QTPOC Artists & Youth Relief Fund 2.0
RELIEF FUND 2.0 — Applications Now Closed.
In 2020, we first-hand the disproportionate impact that the COVID-19 pandemic has on Queer and Trans People of Color (QTPOC), exacerbating preexisting systemic disparities in access to healthcare and other resources. In particular, QTPOC performing artists and youth -- people at the core of our community -- carried disproportionate burden of lost income and financial insecurity.
In response, TTO established a fund to provide temporary financial relief to Boston-area QTPOC performing artists and recent/current participants in our True Colors: OUT Youth Theater program. Over $6000 in grants was disbursed to artists and youth until the end of our 2020 fiscal year on June 30th.
Thanks to many generous donors, we rolled out Relief Fund 2.0 in August 2020. We provided $10,000 in temporary financial assistance to Greater Boston's QTPOC performing artists and youth affected by the pandemic. Grantees were free to use the funds for anything they had need of-- food, rent, education, utilities, healthcare, art/creation supplies, artistic support/sponsorship for upcoming events, etc.
We are so grateful to all the recipients who trusted us with their stories, and all the donors who made the grants possible. Stay tuned for more about our future mutual aid efforts!
