Summer Intensive 2023

This year’s theme is…(drum roll, please)... "Lineage and Time Travel: The Beautiful Collision.”

This Troupe we will be delving into our queer history.  Manifesting and conjuring devised work out of the following: We remember who we come from. We honor the maps they forged for us through their magic, grief, revolts, triumphs, and joy. In their name, we conjure our own magic for ourselves, for each other, and for the ones that will come after.  We are the portal - and we are the destination.  We are the prophets - and we are the destiny. This is our birthright.

In addition, we will be remembering, honoring, revisiting, celebrating, and amplifying QTBIPOC stories to fight erasure and cultural amnesia. Troupe members will work closely with the director and videographer to produce their own filming of their final performance piece. These videos will be used for our final graduation showcase celebration on August 25, 2023 from 7pm - 9:30pm at the Isabella Stewart Gardner Museum.

This ensemble meets Monday through Friday from 4pm-7pm with teaching artists to develop skills in theatrical performance, social justice, and community activism. This Summer, Troupe members will be fully in-person. This is a 3-Week Summer Intensive starting July 31, 2023 - August 25, 2023.

Application deadline is Friday, July 7, 2023.
